Petite & sweet! Romantic cabbage rose small brooch & screwback earring set; both lavishly surrounded by dog tooth mounted clear rhinestones ~very pretty, flirty, & femme. Likely Czech glass, which is very collectible. The cabbage rose motif was popular from the 1930's into the '50's and experienced a revival again in the 1980's.
Brooch: 1" long x 3/4" wide Earrings: ~ 3/4" long x 1/4" wide
Details: Reverse painted cabbage roses on black glass background with nice enamel finish. Heavier goldtone metal settings (pinback & screw earrings) are in good working condition. Two rhinestones of 20 surrounding the brooch have darkened; all surrounding the earrings are still clear. Our apologies that the photos don't show it, but the crystals in the earring surrounds are deep set & shadows obscure their true appearance in these photos. There is minor scuffing to surface of earrings, testament to the distance they've time traveled, nothing terribly distracting.
This charming set is unmarked but was likely made in Czechoslovakia, which had a thriving art glass industry at the time, with its reverse painted products appearing, often unmarked, in diverse items such as buttons & other art glass items as well as jewelry.
Will arrive packaged in Kraft cotton-filled gift box, dimensions: 3" long x 2" wide x 1" deep.
