Dainty, feminine needlepoint was all the rage in fashion accessories in the '40s' & '50's, and it just doesn't get any better than this near mint Austrian made bag. Beautifully crafted, ultra feminine smallish bag goes from lunch to dinner with equal aplomb.
Vintage upscale department store labels were assurances of quality & style long before designer names were common & the Julius Garfinckel Department Store of Washington, D.C. was foremost among them.
Made in Austria for the department store's exclusive label, the needlepoint is exquisitely done; the bag itself is attached to a sturdy brass frame surmounted by a dainty gold (brass) filigree-pierced handle with chased engraving to the top & sides of the frame.
