Hi-glam vintage drama, this matched set of "diamond" jewelry features a series of diagonally set & stacked faceted stones, painstakingly individually prong set in all 4 marvelous pieces.
Matched set consists of an articulated necklace with fold-over secure clasp (additionally accented with 3 stones in the back of the clasp), articulated bracelet with secure clasp & safety chain, and a pair of screw-back convex earrings to reflect even more light and sparkle.
Kramer New York was a well known maker of costume jewelry in an era when designers such as Chanel and Dior promoted "fabulous fakes"-- jewelry just for the fun of it, often made to complement particular outfits, instead of the sort you'd lock away in a vault like your grandmother did. American business was booming & post-war consumer appetites for glam & luxury after the privations of war seemed boundless. The Kramer brothers were in business from the 1940's until the 1970's , and in the '50's, when this set was made, they were at their height.

Details: Set has been partially restored (replacement of dead stones only; there was never any damage to the settings) by "Rhinestone Rosie," a favorite expert costume jewelry appraiser on Antiques Roadshow, who now has a restoration shop here in Seattle. It sparkles brilliantly, in perfect ladylike '50's taste. All pieces are dog-tooth-mounted, all stones are tight, bright & secure.
