Very well made Mid Century darling classic coat, so on-trend for today's vintage child, from Millicent's of San Francisco, a vintage label that specialized in children's outerwear.
Medium weight wool or wool blend, with a warm inner lining tucked inside out of sight. The coat features double-breasted styling with tiny white buttons, very nice white tailored stitching (tiny!), two itsy bitsy faux flap pockets, & back band trimmed with two more tiny buttons above a very smart & expertly rendered back kick pleat. Construction leaves lots of wiggle room while keeping your child warm.
Estimated size: 5- 6 (check measurements carefully!) Add at least 1" to your child's chest measurement for a comfortable fit & to allow for clothing under the coat, more for a thicker item such as a wool sweater.
Details: True vintage rated "Excellent" to "Very Good" condition. Charming classic details as above. No fabric or size labels, but outer coat feels like wool or wool blend; warm inner lining feels like a dense cotton or light wool, and bright red lining may be acetate. Dry cleaning recommended. Flaws: missing one button at very top closure, but doesn't really detract from design, as coat looks just as good (or better) worn with the top button opened; pilling of inner lining (hidden from view in interior of coat); very minor pilling of outer wool fibers. No tears, stains, holes or odors.
