Ingber & Co. of Philadelphia made handbags & purses from 1910-1966, founded by immigrant brothers. According to ads we found, Ingber was manufacturing bags like the one offered here in 1955.
Measurements: Vertical, fully Extended: 9.5" Folded: about 5" Length: 10"
Details: Ingber mark stamped inside; no indication of materials, but probably calf leather. Leather is relatively thick and remains in excellent condition, flexible, with no drying, flaking, or cracking. Brass frame has working kisslock closure. Lining is present/intact, faded & somewhat discolored. Brass frame has issues, with scattered all-over nicks and scars (examine 2nd photo closely), which seem to have been filled in later. From a distance, it looks presentable. Note that in the last photo what looks like dirt or wear is just shadows created by camera flash. :)
