Double strand layered necklace consists of two strands of "pearls" of graduated sizes interspersed with reflective "aurora borealis" faceted crystals that catch & reflect the light, a process developed in the late '50's by Swavorski. Initially offered only to wealthy buyers, the trend caught fire & soon used on costume jewelry.
Condition: True vintage in very good condition. 19" long, comprised of intricately strung two strands of faux pearls in graduated sizes interspersed with aurora borealis spacers. Fishook closure with "Japan" imprinted. Pearls and faceted aurora borealis spacers are plastic; minor finish loss to two pearls and to fastening finding.
